Thank you for your interest in the Town’s Gypsum Creek Recreation Area Master Plan. The Town is working to transform the Gypsum Creek Golf Course area into a vibrant community space with a variety of recreational opportunities for all ages and interests.

The process began in 2022 with a Conceptual Study led by Town Council, Town staff and Mountain Rec staff. In 2023, the project moved into the master planning phase, developing detailed improvement plans based on community input from three public meetings.

The master plan includes:

  • New Community Amenities: A multi-purpose pavilion, expanded pickleball courts and tennis court, a new playground, and family picnic and gathering areas.

  • Golf Course Enhancements: Relocating the pro shop, adding cart storage, remodeling the kitchen, and expanding dining and bar areas.

  • Recreation Center Improvements: Expanding the indoor pool into an indoor/outdoor space with a multi-use splash pad and community gathering area.

The Town has contracted with Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture for both phases of this project. Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture is a highly accomplished firm that specializes in recreational master planning and landscape design.  They also designed the Gypsum Recreation Center and the Gypsum Public Library.
